Abel and Rain

Abel: Mum, are you worried about your clothes? ( Referring to my clothes on the clothes line getting wet from the rain)

Me: Yes.

Abel: I like rain because it waters my plants(referring to his rockets)

Abel: No. You will cough if you play in the rain.

Abel's monkey

This is taken probably towards the 2nd week of December. We were at the nearby mall and there was a balloon artist around. Noel asked for a sword (nothing exciting) but Abel wanted a black monkey. His facial expression while waiting for it was priceless.

Tennis In the backyard

Noel received the tennis pole thingy for his birthday from Auntie R and Uncle J.

Abel used Noel's racquet and played by himself on Sunday afternoon.

Good job on putting on the sunnies, the hat before going out.

We got this radio flyer when Noel was 9 months old. He's never taken much interest as they were made for very tall kids.

Anyhow Abel loves riding on this trike.

Abel Wee MD

Finally Abel got to open this present I got him for Christmas.

Soon the two brothers started taking turns to be doctor and patient.

After about 5 minutes, I became the resident patient. They both take turns to examine me. First, It was taking my temperature , then listening to my heart on the stethoscope and finally trying to inject me on my bum.

Fun factor for the boys: 10/10

I am a tower too

Trip across river

Usually our trip back to Sibu is super hectic. There're so many relis to visit. We went to see Jake's granny and 2nd and 4th uncle who live in Engkilo. (Across the river) it is about 30-35 minutes drive.

Conversation with 2.5 years old

This is a conversation between Abel and me:

Abel: I know where clock lives.

Me: Where? 

Abel: On the wall.

Me: (thinking, how very profound:P )

Abel: I know where car lives.

Me: Where?

Abel: On the road.

Abel: Where does Bob Builder lives?  (Abel tends to shorten words or names, so Bob Builder should be Bob the Builder)

Me: Where?

Abel: Don't know.

Me: In his house?

Abel didn't want to miss out any fun. He donned his pirate hat and here's his rendition as a pirate.

Abel's first day @ Cockle Bay Kindy

Abel started kindy one week after his birthday.  He took it really well. We expected tears and all sorts but he did real well. He was enthusiastic as he walked down the driveway.  He picked the Thomas puzzle and then after a few other puzzles, he moved to the next room with Noel.  After about 20minutes we said goodbye and he stayed for the whole session, all good and well :)

next stop, ohakune

I have been wanting to visit Ohakune for quite some time. What's special? There's a giant carrot in the town, much like there's a pineapple in Sarikei. Some of the smaller towns in New Zealand often have a symbol to represent their town.  So we arrived with no carrots in sight.  

Found a little playground where the boys could spend a bit of time to chill out. Noel wasted no time practising his fireman going down the pole while abel tried the slides.

 

 

 

Ohakune started out as a market gardens. People would plant lots of veggies commercially, and it is still known today for its huge carrots.

Finally we drove don the main street and found the carrot but only a little disappointed they had painted it black for Last Year's RUGBY WORLD CUP.

I had no where to hang the pinata, so I just had the kids break the pinata on the ground in our backyard.

Abel's Birthday

Abel is a big fan of the Wiggles. His birthday cake is a blackforest pudding cake with obviously his  favourite group of people

~the banner~

Here I made a banner for Abel's birthday. It is  quick job involving word, fancy scissor and coloured paper and ribbons to connect the words.

The making of a pinata

Thanks to Dora the explorer Noel knows what a pinata is. So here i am making one. pardon my non-coordination of my pj pants and tee shirts!

 
Noel wanted me to take picture of him and all the lollies. All the moms are going to 'hate' me for these lollies:P

I couldn't believe I allowed myself to buy so many lollies at once!!!

I googled to find some ideas how to make pinata ..Tada, here's my version using mushroom box and lots of crepe paper ..and I cut out number 2 and then covered it all up with the crepe paper.
