I had no where to hang the pinata, so I just had the kids break the pinata on the ground in our backyard.

Abel's Birthday

Abel is a big fan of the Wiggles. His birthday cake is a blackforest pudding cake with obviously his  favourite group of people

Here I made a banner for Abel's birthday. It is  quick job involving word, fancy scissor and coloured paper and ribbons to connect the words.

The making of a pinata

Thanks to Dora the explorer Noel knows what a pinata is. So here i am making one. pardon my non-coordination of my pj pants and tee shirts!

 
Noel wanted me to take picture of him and all the lollies. All the moms are going to 'hate' me for these lollies:P

I couldn't believe I allowed myself to buy so many lollies at once!!!

I googled to find some ideas how to make pinata ..Tada, here's my version using mushroom box and lots of crepe paper ..and I cut out number 2 and then covered it all up with the crepe paper.

Surprise birthday cakes

While it was just small celebration, Noel received a surprise from his 叔叔 and Auntie R. Yes it's a burger birthday cake. The burger roll is a sponge cake, the cheese is a layer of pudding , the burger pattie is choclate brownie and the salad is fresh strawberries. The tomato sauce was made of jam. It is actually pretty tasty.

Birthday at Kindy

During Mat time, Noel got seated next to B, his teacher. His chair had a special slipcover, usually it's Mattime helper but today it was the Birthday slipcover :) Everyone sang him the happy Birthday song while playing 'air keyboard' . Noel got to choose his birthday badge and he can choose his 'magnetic' cake. He chose a two tier cake and his 4 candles.

Noel's 4th Birthday

I promised Sal & Stace I will show the picture of Noel's birthday cakes. Here they are after 3 months. Noel is really into fire engines and fireman and for his 4th birthday he wanted fireengine for his cake. I would normally just go to the cake shop and ordered one but this year, he saw this little fire engine cake from a cake book I borrowed from the library.

I bought mini swiss roll from the bakery the afternoon before and at 5 45am the next day I started assembling these cakes. I finished assembling all 10 about 45minutes before service starts. *phew

Since I was not working in those months, I decided to give a try. I did a test run a week before. Don't laugh at my attempt but the boy was stoked. He gave me the seal of approval. I tried to follow the recipe in the book. The only replacement I did was to replace the light with yellow skittles and the ladder with orange flavoured chocolate sticks (the book was calling for star shaped type sprinkles and licorice for the ladder)

We didn't do a big party for him, I only made the cake for his classmates at Sunday school. Above a photo of him and his little friends and teachers; Miss Y and Mrs W.

Happy birthday to Noel...

This year has certainly gone too fast for me. I probably say the same statement every year since I turn a quarter century old. Anyhow, for a nearly 3 year old, it seems ages. We decided to hold a small party for him on the saturday before his actual birthday. He wanted an Elmo cake. So he brought in his elmo plush (thanks godma) and showed it to the bakery lady. Ta-da, his cake has taro flavour in between the layers.

Again, this year, we did a bbq.It also coincided with our LG fellowship. So everyone brings a plate too. There were salads, porks and chicken and we made Ant made his decadent chocolate mousse and hazelnut ice-cream.

The boys were playing in the playroom. They were all very well behaved :)

After stuffing ourselves with all the goodies, next come the highlight for the birthday boy. We sang Happy birthday to Noel. Here's our latest family picture.

Then we proceed to open the presents. N is opening up present from Cayden. He's very excited.

N turns 2!

N turns 2 and we had a party at home. This year, we got him square chocolate mudcake from Cheesecake shop with pics of Winnie the Pooh and friends.

His favourite song for the last 1.5 months prior to his birthday was HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

He had a visit to Plunket nurse on his birthday and below is his latest stats:
