Meet Sailant

I have always been on the lookout for knee length boots that would fit my 'generous' calf.
I remembered years ago in Adelaide, I would be so embarrassed at the shoe shop not able to zip up the boots pass my calf, and I didn't want the stretchable type either so it had been a mission for me finding one that fits.

Only this few years, I noticed  there are more boots that emphasised on generous calf sizing.  The shoemakers must have noticed there are quite a population out there who has generous calf.

Anyhow, this winter I bagged this at Hannahs. I kinda had been eyeing for this pair. When I tried it, I knew I had to get it as it zipped comfortably pass my calf. I had walked in it all day for close to 12 hours and I didn't get any soreness. None of my other boots could match this pair.

I love this to bits! It's been my wardrobe staples so far :)

Abel at Bikeathon

Bikeathon 2012

I posted a link of Noel's bikeathon some time back. I finally got around to pick the photos from the Bikeathon and here are a few of my favourites. It was held on Botany Primary adjacent to the kindy.

 

I made a last minute decoration for his bike.  Cut his name out of a Christmas wrapping paper :D
 

 

 

Another boat

This is a boat Noel made at kindy.  It even has an anchor (a piece of square paper) on the hidden edge of the boat .

Not wanting to waste the remaining of the box, he made a boat after he completed the eye patch. It was a little wobby (the sail part) but hey, didn't stop the boat from sailing in the ocean he's prepared.

 

Another pirate in the house

Abel didn't want to miss out any fun. He donned his pirate hat and here's his rendition as a pirate.

Arr arr ...

There's something fascinating about pirates for children, it's probably the way they talk and the costumes and the adventures they had.

Here, Noel made his own eye patch from biscuit boxes and some cord he found from around the house.

St Patrick's day 2012

He had an all green day to celebrate St  Patricks' day at kindy - clover on the face, green tee and pants and I think he wore his green crocs too to complete the green theme

Morning session kindy

I had opportunity to send Noel to morning kindy in late summer.  Children are encouraged to be independent, and are to carry their own bags. Above, they are expected to put their own photo next to the school they will be attending.  Noel's school right at the top. He had a bit of trouble reaching right to the top.

Next he signed himself in and also find his tag before he puts them on the board.  Caregivers are to sign in on the adult sign in table.

There were all sorts of activities happening. Above, Mrs Bronwyn Glass the head teacher of BDK is supervising kids on the balancing bar thingie. Not an easy task for a 4 year old

Noel introduced me to the collage table, his favourite place.  I can never set up something like this at home because I will just come home to a big mess with capital M in the house. Maybe when Abel is older ...

Abel checked himself out on the table. It is all set up with paper, pen, and what have you.

This is like the nature studies table. It has butterflies on the mirror and children are encouraged to study them

Picasso did many paintings (like above) simple and childlike. Where can I get my hands on his work (reproduction, of course)

Kite Flying

Uncle J brought a kite to let Noel play one late summer afternoon. It was such a nice afternoon, and Noel had a chance to navigate it himself after it's been set up.

Luke's birthday

 

 

Luke was Noel's besties at BDK.  He turned 4 in March, and Noel was invited to his bday party.  The theme was The Wiggles and there were trampoline, jumpy castle , treasure hunt etc. Noel had a great time.

Abel's first day @ Cockle Bay Kindy

Abel started kindy one week after his birthday.  He took it really well. We expected tears and all sorts but he did real well. He was enthusiastic as he walked down the driveway.  He picked the Thomas puzzle and then after a few other puzzles, he moved to the next room with Noel.  After about 20minutes we said goodbye and he stayed for the whole session, all good and well :)

 This is the longest wait of all- the mini ferris wheel. The boys thoroughly enjoyed the ride.
